Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | Full-Time | Night Shift | 13-Week Assignment | Shifts vary by facility: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM or 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Every other weekend and holidays required | No on-call requirement

Key Responsibilities

• Provide pulmonary care for critical, non-critical, and chronically ill adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients under physician direction with minimal supervision
• Perform patient assessments and institute respiratory care plans across all areas of the hospital
• Manage ventilators (setup and operation) at a 5:1 vent-to-therapist ratio; manage airway support devices including BiPAP and CPAP
• Perform and assist with advanced procedures including airway management, aerosolized drug delivery, bloodgas collection and analysis, chest film analysis, EKG analysis, and bronchoscopy assist
• Respond to emergency situations including Code Blue and Code White events
• Float between two facilities as required; maintain accurate and complete documentation and participate in CAP and Joint Commission surveys

Required Qualifications

• Active RT or RCP License in the state of employment required
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential issued by NBRC required
• BLS certification required via American Heart Association (AHA)
• ACLS certification required via American Heart Association (AHA)
• Minimum of 1 year of experience; adult ICU experience required
• Ability to float between two facility locations as part of the assignment

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 1–3 years of respiratory therapy experience preferred
• Experience with advanced practice skills such as pulmonary function testing, hemodynamic monitoring, waveform analysis, nocturnal SpO2 evaluation, polysomnography, or therapeutic gas management including INO and HeO2
• Experience functioning in a Shift Leader or Team Leader capacity
