We are part of the Odyssey Behavioral Healthcare Network, offering a continuum of care within our Psychiatric and Eating Disorder Networks, including inpatient, intensive residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient services nationwide. Position Summary The Psychiatrist is primarily responsible for clinical supervision and oversight of psychiatric nurse practitioners, conducting psychiatric evaluations, medication consultation, and collaboration with community prescribers. Position Responsibilities Provides clinical supervision and oversight to psychiatric nurse practitioners in accordance with state and federal regulations. Reviews and co‑signs documentation as required by law and organizational policy. Conducts psychiatric evaluations for individuals enrolled in the PHP. Provides medication management services for individuals enrolled in PHP as needed. Available at least weekly and by telephone in unusual or urgent situations related to medication. Directs and collaborates with staff on clinical activities and interventions. Provides consultation to community referrals as needed to ensure successful disposition of former patients. Completes medical record and other documentation in a timely and accurate manner to meet clinical, payer and other requirements. Participates in marketing and outreach events on occasion. Performs other activities as requested by the Director and assumes other appropriate medical responsibilities as necessary. Qualifications Board Eligible or Board‑Certified Psychiatrist. All necessary requirements must be met to practice adult psychiatry in California. Experience with mental health PHP/IOP and/or psychiatric hospital experience desired. Superior communication skills working with patients, family members, community stakeholders and staff. Minimum of two (2) years of management experience in a behavioral health setting such as a hospital, outpatient clinic, or related service provider required. Minimum of two (2) years of experience treating the adult emotionally disturbed population, preferably including young adults and adults in mental health; experience with co‑occurring disorders and/or substance use disorders a plus; eating disorder treatment experience preferred. Performs duties independently, responsibly and with a high level of integrity. Physical Requirements Employee must communicate with peers, general public, clients and/or vendors. Employee must move throughout the building and sit or remain stationary for extended periods of time. Employee may be required to talk or hear, sit, stand, walk, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, taste or smell. Ability to move 25 pounds. Compensation Range $250.00 - $300.00 per hour, depending on level and location. Additional Information For cash compensation, ranges are set based on function, level, and geographic location. Final offers consider location, experience, and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.
