Food Service Aide

Meadow View is currently looking for a Food Service Aide to join our team! A Food Service Aide provides assistance in all nutrition service functions as directed by the Director of Food Service in accordance with the center’s standards and procedures, federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations. Assists with providing nourishing, attractive, well-balanced meals and a pleasant dining experience. Must follow company policies and procedures. QUALIFICATION STANDARDS: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Requires demonstrated knowledge and ability in food service preparation and clean up. Verbal and written English communication skills. Position requires prolonged standing, frequent bending, walking, stooping, lifting, stretching, moving heavy items, and lifting/ carrying up to 50 pounds. Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience: Previous long term care experience or institutional food service preferred. Certificate/Licenses : Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The employee must be able to perform, including but not limited to, these essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation by the employer, without posing a direct threat to him/her or to others. JOB DESCRIPTION Ensure all food procedures are followed. Prepares food using proper food handlingand safety techniques Maintains proper temperature of foodduring preparation and service Assist in daily or scheduled cleaning dutiesin food service department Assist in serving meals, beverages, andspecial items on a timely manner. Assist in maintaining food storage areas in aclean and orderly manner. Label, dates, and stores food properly Maintain a clean sanitary work area Maintain clean kitchen Equipment Prepare dining room for service Perform dishwashing service and cleaningprocedures Prepare and deliver snacks as directed Assure safety and health regulations arebeing followed Report any complaints to supervisor. Report all hazardous conditions orequipment to supervisor Report any abuse immediately tosupervisor. Assist in food preparation for special mealsor events. Maintain Confidentiality of all resident’sinformation to assure residents rights areprotected Report all work related injuries tosupervisor. Transport all food carts in a safe and propermanner. Wear proper work attire including hair netsand badges. Practice safe work habits. Performs all other duties as assigned.
