Manufacturing Engineer-MechanicalDesign/modify equipment to improve productivity, safety, and ease of maintenance in foundry, machining, and automation applications.Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesDefine scope of project, working with all plant groups (production, maintenance, safety, quality, etc.)Design 3D working modelComplete necessary FEA through Ansys and hand calculations to prove concept of designDetail 2D drawings, understanding material selection and GD&THydraulic and pneumatic design, schematics, and bills of materialsOrder all components, working with purchasing departmentLead build of equipmentOrganize installation of equipment, through development of scope of work, and leadership of contractor and WF installation crewsFollow-up with plants to transition equipment to full productionDesign/modify existing equipmentDesign of robot cells, following all WF/OSHA safety standards and guidelinesThis is not an exhaustive list of duties or functions and may not necessarily comprise all of the "essential functions" for purposes of the ADA.Preferred Education/Experience RequirementsMechanical Engineering, Bachelor of Science degree or equivalentSupervisory ResponsibilitiesProvide job shadows for high school/college aged studentsLead summer interns or co-op studentsLead installation crews, often serving as a direct supervisor, responsible for all safety and administrative duties (Hot Work Permits, Pre-job Meetings, Critical Lift Permits, New Equipment Buy-offs, Risk-ranking, etc.)Qualifications/SkillsProblem-solvingAbility to work under pressureCreativityAbility to learn the functionality of a piece of equipment, mechanically inclinedDetermination to do whatever it takes to solve complex problemsAbility to network and perform in cross-functioning teams of employees, from differing plants and departmentsVerbal and written communicationMicrosoft Office, Ansys, SAP, Autodesk (AutoCAD, Inventor, & Vault), OpticsWork EnvironmentMajority of time spent in manufacturing engineering office.
