RN Infusion Nurse - Per Diem - Englewood

Job Description Summary Infusion Nurse II – a licensed registered nurse who coordinates and provides intermediate direct patient care to patients in the home or alternate infusion suite, ensuring patient safety and continuity of care under a physician’s plan of care. Job Responsibilities Initiates, develops, and implements intermediate nursing plan of care treatments, evaluating patient progress towards goals. Conducts assessments and re‑evaluations, clarifies physician orders, and provides written summaries to physicians. Provides training and mentorship to Infusion Nurse I’s to ensure patient safety and compliance. Teaches patients and families using a patient‑centered approach to achieve independence with therapy and care. Communicates effectively with clinical teams, patients and families, prepares real‑time documentation, and submits to the nursing department for billing compliance. Coordinates discharge planning and prepares discharge summaries with instructions and goals for transferred care. Demonstrates compliance with agency policies, professional standards, regulations and accreditation standards. Uses computers and automation technologies to validate orders, communicate care, and follow visit schedule. Responds promptly to patient requests and initiates emergency procedures when necessary. Adheres to ethical and professional conduct, following established policies and practices. Safeguards confidentiality of patient and company information, adhering to HIPAA regulations. Describes company services and financial responsibilities to patients. Complies with required training, continuing education and licensure maintenance; may act as supervisor when absent. Participates in multidisciplinary team conferences, precepting and onboarding activities. Participates in nursing department on‑call responsibilities. Performs other related duties as directed. If Applicable Inserts PICC/Midlines per physician order. Troubleshoots or clears obstructed central line catheters. Monitors PICC/Midline and educates on line infection prevention and routine care. Basic Education and/or Experience Active and unrestricted RN license in state of practice. Minimum of 1 year nursing experience. Current CPR certification required. Basic Qualifications Demonstrated competency in patient care standards and infusion skills; advanced certification acceptable. Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle with liability insurance. Proficiency with computer operating systems and software applications. Physical Demand Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (maximum 75 pounds), exert up to 20 pounds force occasionally or 10 pounds frequently. Work may require walking, standing, crouching, kneeling, turning, balancing, stooping, reaching, grasping, pushing, pulling. Risk of exposure to blood, body fluids, hazardous substances, needles, chemicals, weather elements, and unpredictable home environments. Safety requirements: closed‑toe shoes, mask, goggles, gown/gloves, and functioning communication device. Travel Requirements Willing to travel up to 100% of the time for business purposes. Preferred Qualifications & Interests Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. 1–2 years of previous infusion nursing experience preferred.
