Quick Facts Location: CHI Health Good Samaritan Hospital, 10 East 31st Street, Kearney, NE 68847 Start Date: 06/02/2026 Duration: Multiple scheduled coverage periods (see dates below) Shift: 24 hours, on-call coverage Hours/Week: Variable depending on shifts Employment Type: PRN, Locum Tenens Required Licenses/Certifications: Nebraska medical license, board-certified/board-eligible in surgery Experience: Prior experience with CABG, valve, and thoracic cases Pay & Benefits Pay package discussed upon application Weekly pay schedule via direct deposit Competitive hourly rates for on-call and callback duties On-call (daily): $4,650–$5,000 per 24 hours (includes 4 hours gratis) 24-hour holiday call: $6,975–$7,500 per 24 hours (includes 4 hours gratis) Callback (per patient contact hour): $500–$550 Holiday callback: $750–$825 per hour of patient contact Orientation: $250–$275 (half the hourly rate, after 8 hours) Additional reimbursements for travel, lodging, and licensure as applicable Comprehensive medical benefits (W-2) Robust referral bonus program Paid sick time in accordance with applicable laws Licensure, certification, travel, and other reimbursements when applicable What You’ll Do Provide 24/7 Cardiothoracic surgery coverage, including CABG, valve, and thoracic procedures Collaborate with hospital staff to ensure continuous patient care during assigned shifts Manage trauma and emergency cases at a level 2 trauma center Support hospital's surgical team during scheduled coverage periods and on-call duties Follow hospital protocols and documentation requirements using Epic EMR Be available for callbacks and emergency procedures as needed during shifts and holidays What You Need Active Nebraska medical license and current board certification or eligibility in surgery Prior experience performing CABG, valve surgeries, and thoracic procedures Ability to meet credentialing requirements within 60-90 days Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently in a hospital setting Preferred: Experience working in trauma centers or level 2 trauma hospitals Familiarity with Epic EMR system About the Assignment Join a leading regional referral hospital in Kearney, Nebraska, providing critical care coverage during a temporary vacancy.
