Job Title: OR Technician Location: RWJUH Rahway Hospital Department Name: Operating Room Req #: Status: Hourly Shift: Evening Pay Range: $35.05 - $42.97 per hour Pay Transparency: The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. Job Overview: The Surgical Technologist (ST) delivers care in the health care system within the scope of practice defined by the ASC/ASTand regulatory standards and assures awareness of ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics. The Surgical Technologistassures safety in practice and is inclusive of the principles of evidence-based practice by maintaining a realization of owning an individual level of knowledge and experience and assumingresponsibility for one's ownprofessionaladvancement.The ST is an interdisciplinary team member utilizing the nursing process to integrate all aspects of the provision of care and individualizes the plan of care to address a specific patient's needs. Qualifications: Required: Completion of an accredited ARC/ASTA Surgical Technology program including appropriate documented clinical hours Willing to take on call emergencies Preferred: Prior Surgical Tech experience Certifications and Licenses Required: National Certification in Surgical Technology Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association Scheduling Requirements: FT Schedule11:30am -10:00pm 10 hour shift x 4 days a week with 1 day off a week which varies On Call Required Essential Functions: Scrub independently on surgical cases Understands and demonstrates knowledge of sterile techniques Understands the role of patient advocate in the surgical setting Is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors Responsible and accountable for the appropriate delegation of patient care to other members of the health care team Communicates effectively and collaborates with physicians and other patient care providers Responsible for consistently setting and evaluating priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes toward improvement Other essential duties as required Benefits and Perks: At RWJBarnabas Health, our employees are at the heart of everything we do.
