We create welcoming spaces for young people – regardless of immigration status – to support, engage, and empower them to make their voices heard and win! With an online reach of over 5 million every month, more than 1,000,000 members as well as 4 statewide branches and local groups across 28 states. Our vision is a society which celebrates our diversity and believes in a multi-ethnic, intersectional path to getting there. Over 60% of our members are womxn and 30% identify as LGBTQ. Whether we’re organizing in the streets, building innovative technology systems, opening doors for LGBTQ immigrant youth, clearing pathways to education, stopping deportations or creating alliances across social movements, United We Dream puts undocumented immigrant youth in the driver’s seat. UWD is a fast paced, dynamic organization which has become a leading voice in social change and has appeared in every major news outlet in the country. We are driven by the priorities and needs of our members; have trained thousands of individuals; and have supported countless local organizing groups. Program Implementation: Coordinate and implement distributed organizing tactics that align with campaign goals and community needs, managing timelines, digital tools, and communications to ensure smooth execution of member‑led actions. Build and maintain strong internal collaboration with the on‑the‑ground organizers, as well as the training team, to ensure distributed efforts are aligned, resourced, and grounded in broader recruitment, campaign, and advocacy strategy. Grow and support a thriving distributed community by cultivating inclusive, values‑based spaces (such as Slack or other platforms), and ensuring members feel connected, heard, and empowered to lead. Develop organizing materials (e.g., toolkits, scripts, training guides, presentations, text scripts, phone bank scripts, emails, text outreach, Slack outreach, registration pages, and other content) that build the skills and confidence of leaders to take effective, independent action. This requires a proactive approach to learning new skills and embracing unforeseen challenges to ensure continuous contribution and success. This role requires traveling up to or more than 20% per year. This role requires the coordination of some in‑person events, for which you will be expected to perform member‑related duties, the logistical planning and execution, which may involve lifting up to 30lbs, and transporting materials and escorting/transporting members. 2‑3 campaign cycles in either field, distributed, or digital positions on political campaigns. Carries a team‑driven culture that allows them to collaborate on different projects at once with other team members. Success: Mission‑committed: We encourage input from our diverse staff and members when making strategic decisions. Once a decision is made, you are willing to stand behind it even if it’s different from what you would have suggested. Relationship‑oriented: You recognize the deep importance that relationships with colleagues and allies play in our work, and you build rapport and trust with others. 100% follow‑through: No dropped balls policy! Stay on top of all specific tasks/follow‑up items and general areas of work; consistently meet deadlines. Positive attitude and flexibility: Approach work with a spirit of “yes”; strike a positive tone; push work forward through obstacles and adapt quickly as things change. Responsiveness: You stay on top of communicating with members and partners, prioritizing inquiries and responding in a timely manner. Open‑minded and flexible: Sometimes, you will need to change course, either because the landscape has unexpectedly changed, or because a new, improved way of doing things has emerged. You welcome these changes and adapt with a positive attitude. Practice discretion and good judgment: Our movement is made up of people with varying viewpoints, some of which are in conflict with one another. You seek out opportunities to work with unlikely allies, and have good judgment about what conversations are best kept private. Organizational leadership: Lead by example by modeling a high bar for performance and being an exemplar of our values; operate with the best interests of the organization in mind, and not simply the best interests of your team. Coach mentality: You take the time to teach and offer useful and actionable feedback. You expect that people will make mistakes and see those as opportunities for learning. Take care of yourself and others: We do difficult work, and our movement is only sustainable if leaders take care of themselves and care about the well‑being of peers and volunteers. You are honest with your manager about what you need in order to bring your whole, best self to the role. This is a remote position that will require periodic travel.
