Looking for a position where you can make things explode (safely!), inspire the next generation of scientists, and get paid to have fun?

Mad Science of Washington DC is looking for fun, high-energy, and dynamic individuals to join our Performance Team! We deliver theatrical, hands-on STEM programs and assemblies to elementary students across the DMV. We supply the full curriculum, lab gear, and step-by-step training - you supply the high-voltage energy, strict classroom management, and total reliability.

What You’ll Do
  • Perform & Teach: Lead high-energy, interactive science workshops and theatrical demonstrations for elementary school-aged children.
  • Inspire: Turn complex science concepts into unforgettable, hands-on fun!
  • Travel: Drive to various schools, community centers, and event locations across the DMV area.
What You Need to Apply (Requirements)
  • Group Management Experience: Minimum 1 year managing groups of 10+ elementary-aged kids simultaneously (e.g., classroom teaching, theater direction, camp counseling, or youth athletics).
  • Reliable Personal Vehicle: Must own a reliable car to transport kits to event sites.
  • Punctuality & Communication: A proven track record of arriving early and responding to schedule confirmations within 24 hours.
  • Background Clearance: Must be willing to clear state and federal criminal background checks.
