Nursing Assistant

This is a Full-time Nights position at Viera Hospital. Position summary involves being fully engaged in providing quality customer experience and stewardship by providing superior quality competitive value and outstanding service by organizing unit activities coordinating and relaying information to health care team members patients and families in an accurate and timely manner and by assisting licensed personnel in providing direct nursing care under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Primary responsibilities include delivering basic care to patients in a clean and safe environment completing assigned tasks in a timely manner demonstrating effective communication with other members of the health care team and promoting effective team functioning maintaining a clean and safe environment using and caring for equipment and supplies economically collecting records and reporting accurate patient information demonstrating dependability reliability and flexibility competently performing routine procedures and assisting other associates to maintain productivity providing service to patients and families with sensitivity and respect for their needs expectations age cultural and individual differences contributing to the patient experience as evidenced by positive patient satisfaction scores as well as consistent performance of purposeful hourly rounding and bedside shift report demonstrating and making suggestions toward the positive financial performance of the unit.

Work experience minimum qualifications include holding a Florida certificate as a Nursing Assistant or having completed a Nursing Assistant course and being scheduled to take the Florida State exam and will obtain certification within four months from date of hire or currently holding a Nursing Assistant license in another U.S. state and is seeking Florida licensure and will obtain certification within four months of hire. Certification includes American Heart Association BLS Health Care Provider upon hire and maintain certification. Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred. Knowledge/skills/abilities include being able to speak/understand written and verbal instructions in the English language proficient in computer software applications ability to work in often stressful environment with patients/families at various ages and levels of understanding ability to concentrate on multiple priority activities ability to respond appropriately in life threatening situations ability to think critically to solve problems or escalate for assistance knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Schedule: Full-Time Shift Times: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
