Job Overview Performs high quality pediatric Interventional Radiology (IR) procedures. Provides conscientious patient care while adhering to all quality and safety standards. Performs administrative duties including but not limited to scheduling appointments, patient instructions, and maintenance of records. This position is responsible for communicating regularly with patients, families, and all hospital and community caregivers while following department expectations for interactions with patients and families. Required to be on call depending on location. Duties & Responsibilities Population Specific Care Neonate – Infancy – > 30 days to 1 yr Toddlers – > 1 yr to 3 yrs Pre-schoolers – > 3 yrs to 5 yrs School age – > 5 yrs to 13 yrs Adolescent – >13 yrs to 18 yrs Adult – >18 yrs to 65 yrs Essential Functions

1. Operates Fluoroscopic and Ultrasonic equipment to produce high quality images while accurately demonstrating anatomy and pathology. Assists Interventionalist with performing procedures to include; scrubbing cases, maintaining a sterile field, and circulating procedure
2. Facilitates patient flow daily; to include management of STAT/urgent and high priority patients.
3. Provides age‑appropriate care and appropriately prepares patients for procedures.
4. Provides clear and detailed information regarding the procedure and care to patients, families, coworkers, and others.
5. Operates all imaging equipment; to include ancillary equipment following safety procedures and protocols.
6. Demonstrates and utilizes principles of ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) and ensures proper radiation safety practices.
7. Competent in dose reduction techniques and the Image Gently Campaign.
8. Demonstrates and maintains competency and ability to use all aspects of Radiology Information System (RIS), Electronic Medical Records (EMR), Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) as it pertains to modality specific functions and use.
9. Demonstrates initial and annual competency in IV placement and securement, vascular access devices and extravasation handling.
10. In the event of an emergency will act as first responder and provide Basic Life Support (BLS) until help arrives.
11. Verifies patient allergies and clinical indications prior to contrast administration. Safely administers contrast using the five rights. Ensures contrast is appropriately ordered and documented in patients’ medical record.
12. Assists Provider with procedures as necessary (Maintaining technologist Scope of Practice). Follows established procedural guidelines; documents appropriate information as required; practices aseptic/sterile technique and standard precautions when necessary.
13. Follows department policies, procedures and protocols. Raises or addresses concerns regarding non‑compliance or patient/staff safety.
14. Follows established quality assurance/control (QA/QC) and safety programs to include The Joint Commission, American College of Radiology (ACR), and the State of Colorado.
15. Promptly reports equipment malfunctions or errors and contacts respective service engineer or Biomed for repair.
16. Communicates clearly and effectively in both verbal and written forms, following established department guidelines for customer service.
17. Maintains flexibility around shift scheduling, location, call requirements, over‑time and weekend assignments to align with organizational need.

Scope and Level Guidelines: Trains in the field and assists higher level personnel to acquire learning through practical experience. Complexity: Performs routine and/or basic tasks common to the field. Procedures, methods, and techniques to be used are well established with options to be considered well defined. Tools, work aids, and materials to be used are specified. Decision Making: Duties assigned are primarily routine, repetitive, and restricted in intricacy with little or no discretion in how they are carried out. Communications: Contacts with team members, clients or the public where factual information relative to the organization or its functions are received, relayed, or a service rendered according to established procedures or instructions. Supervision Received: Under close supervision, the employee receives training to develop skills and abilities in a specific line of work or general occupational area. Work product is subject to close, continuous inspection. Minimum Qualifications Degrees Graduation from an accredited Radiology program Licenses & Certifications American Registry of Radiologic Technologists: Registered Radiology Technologist ARRT(R) American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider Schedule / Shift 40hrs FT 4x10's/week with a call rotation Salary Information Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
