Drylock Technologies is seeking a motivated and hands-on Logistics Group Leader to oversee daily warehouse and logistics operations while leading a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for coordinating shipping and receiving activities, managing inventory accuracy, ensuring safety compliance, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and providing leadership to logistics team members.

Schedule:  Logistics Group Leader will work 3 or 4 12-hour shifts from 7pm - 7am each week on the 2-2-3 schedule. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Enforces and follows all safety regulations and procedures.
• Enforces and follows all defined procedures and processes.
• At the beginning of each shift, ensure all logistics areas/functions are staffed with the correct number of employees. Review and adjust for absences.
• Adjust scheduling of tasks as needed if employees call in or go home sick.
• Follow up on any issues from the previous shift.
• Manage changes to the shipping schedule and communicate with logistics personnel. 
• Report potential shipment misses/shortages to Logistics Manager.
• Follow up with carriers when appointment times are missed for inbound and outbound loads. Communicate to Customer Service any potential delays of outbound shipments and Purchasing of any inbound shipments.
• Audit warehouse and logistics areas throughout the day for Safety, Housekeeping, 5S and Quality Issues. 
• Apply methods used to maintain continuous improvements. Must continuously monitor the work area for improvements and encourage the people to challenge themselves with continuous improvement as an everyday objective.
• Continuously use opportunity to teach and coach team members on the objectives of an efficient organization.
• Responsible for forklift and warehouse facilities maintenance. Contact maintenance if necessary.
• Manage logistics supplies needed by the department, communicate need to order to the Logistics Administrative Assistant
• Responsible for maintaining safe work practices within the logistics department and maintaining the housekeeping within the warehouses.
• Perform cycle counts of raw materials and relay information into the proper system. Inform Logistics Manager of progress for tracking purposes. Communicate potential issues to the Supply Chain Manager.
• Manage unloading supplier trucks and receipt of raw materials into the proper system.
• Responsible for ensuring warehouse driver is cross trained on Material Handling duties for day to day support and to fill in as needed when Material Handler is absent. Manage scrap and recycle materials processes in the plant. 
• Coordinate all case scrap and the repack process with Quality and Production.
• Perform cycle counts of finished goods and relay information into the proper system. Inform Logistics Manager of progress for tracking purposes. Communicate potential issues to the Production Scheduler.
• Manage all shipping processes.
• Manage production reporting to inventory. Ensure all paperwork is completed and production is entered correctly at end of shift.
• Coordinate location control of finished goods and raw materials with Production.
• Responsible for preparing person on shift to be your back up as Group Leader, and any other duties as requested by Department Manager.

 

Education and Experience:

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Must have at least 2-year minimum experience in the logistics field.
• Must be forklift certified.

 

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Must have a good command of the English language, both written and spoken
• Must be able to read and interpret work documents
• Must have the ability to work in teams
• Must have the ability to perform basic math
• Must have the ability to adapt to frequent changes
• Willingness and desire to lead the logistics team in a positive environment while motivating towards constant improvement.
• Need to be knowledgeable about the receiving process of raw materials and finished goods, including the production entry process.
• Need to be knowledgeable about the materials, machines, tools, and logistics steps in the logistics environment.
• Must have computer skills as applicable to logistics projects in the manufacturing field.
• Need to have the technical knowledge of each operation in their area and the correct way that each operation is performed. 
• Need to have the ability to fill in for a Team Member as needed to avoid disruption of the logistics operations.
• Need to have qualified experience and good judgment to plan and execute goals.
• Be able to set priorities and handle requests regarding logistics team activities.
• Respects individuals, the organization, occupational health and safety, authority, the community and the team.
• Must be able to work overtime or on a different shift if required.
• Ability to work independently. 
• Ability to take initiative.
• Have good problem-solving skills.
• Have the ability to set priorities and handle special requests.
• Have excellent communication skills and always communicate with other departments revolving around how Logistics is performing.
• Motivate employees with positive comments.
• Familiar with SAP
