Banquet Bartender

The Banquet Bartender is responsible for providing professional, efficient, and engaging beverage service during weddings, conferences, banquets, and other special events throughout the resort. This position prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, sets up and maintains banquet bars, and ensures all guests receive prompt and welcoming service.

This role is a key position in our operational excellence delivery goals. The role may advance into a supervisor level position should the incumbent demonstrate sufficient strategic development and enlargement of performance scope. The successful person will be an advocate of our mission, values, and brand from a Food and Beverage level.

• Sets up, maintains, and breaks down banquet bars for weddings, conferences, corporate events, social gatherings, and other resort functions.
• Prepares and serves cocktails, mixed drinks, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages accurately, efficiently, and according to established recipes and resort standards.
• Provides prompt, friendly, and professional service while creating a welcoming and enjoyable experience for guests.
• Greets guests warmly, responds to beverage requests, and maintains a professional and positive demeanor throughout each event.
• Verifies guest identification and follows all applicable liquor laws, responsible alcohol service practices, and resort policies.
• Monitors guest alcohol consumption and appropriately addresses situations involving intoxication or unsafe service in accordance with resort procedures.
• Reviews banquet event orders (BEOs) and event details to understand bar setup, beverage selections, guest counts, timing, and special requests.
• Ensures banquet bars are properly stocked with liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, glassware, ice, and other necessary supplies before and throughout events.
• Accurately processes cash, credit card, hosted bar, cash bar, and other beverage transactions as required for each event.
• Maintains accurate records of beverage usage, sales, and inventory as required.
• Maintains a clean, organized, and sanitary bar area throughout the event, including proper handling and storage of beverage products, garnishes, glassware, and equipment.
• Works collaboratively with banquet servers, captains, supervisors, culinary associates, and other departments to ensure seamless event execution and exceptional guest service.
• Assists with banquet service, event setup, clearing, restocking, glassware, and other event-related responsibilities when business needs require.
• Responds professionally to guest questions, concerns, and special requests and involves banquet leadership when additional assistance is needed.
• Handles resort property, beverage products, equipment, and supplies responsibly and reports shortages, damage, or maintenance concerns promptly.
• Follows all resort safety, sanitation, food handling, alcohol service, and cash-handling policies and procedures.
• Maintains flexibility to work a variety of events and locations throughout the resort based on business needs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Previous bartending, banquet, restaurant, hospitality, or related guest service experience preferred.

• Knowledge of common cocktails, beer, wine, spirits, beverage preparation, and responsible alcohol service practices.
• Must meet all applicable age requirements for serving alcoholic beverages.
• Alcohol service certification or ability to obtain required certification within the designated timeframe.
• Strong guest service skills with a friendly, professional, and service-oriented approach.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced event environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Effective verbal communication and listening skills with the ability to interact professionally with guests, associates, and leadership.
• Strong multitasking and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize responsibilities during high-volume events.
• Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of the banquet and resort team.
• Dependable and punctual, with the ability to meet event timelines and scheduled start times.
• Ability to remain professional and composed while managing high guest volumes, special requests, and changing event needs.
• Flexibility to work varied schedules based on resort and event needs, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including standing for extended periods and lifting, carrying, pushing, or moving beverage products, supplies, and equipment as required.
