Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the police department to ensure effective law enforcement and community safety
• Develop and implement policies and procedures that promote professionalism and accountability
• Coordinate with city officials, community groups, and other agencies to enhance public safety initiatives
• Oversee departmental training, equipment maintenance, and resource allocation
• Respond to critical incidents and provide guidance during emergencies
• Maintain open communication with the public to build trust and foster community relations
• Manage budget and staffing to meet department operational goals

Required Qualifications

• Nebraska Certified Law Enforcement Officer or equivalent certification from another state
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license and good driving record
• Proficient in English speaking and writing
• No felony or domestic violence convictions

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree
