Staff Accountant

The American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) is the national medical society representing emergency medicine. Through continuing education, research, public education, and advocacy, ACEP advances emergency care on behalf of its 41,000 emergency physician members and the more than 150 million Americans they treat on an annual basis. This role is not open to fully remote applicants; only candidates in the DFW, Texas area will be considered. A hybrid schedule of both in-office work and work-from-home hours is available. The Staff Accountant maintains accurate financial records by managing daily transactions, preparing journal entries, and performing reconciliations (bank, AR/AP, fixed assets) in compliance with GAAP. This role’s responsibilities include (but are not limited to) providing backup for the department’s monthly chapter accounting, supporting chapter staff/officers regarding monthly equity statements, recording transactions to maintain integrity of GL and sub-ledgers, creating financial reports, processing manual credit card transactions, and preparing sales tax filings/submission. Our ideal candidate has… Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance. Prior experience with GL accounting, month-end closing, and reconciliation. Other desired qualifications include proficiency with ERP software, intermediate Excel skills, strong understanding of US GAAP, familiarity with nonprofit fund accounting, and experience with database management.
