Job Overview Fusion Medical Staffing–Therapy is seeking a travel Physical Therapist for a 13‑week assignment in Toms River, New Jersey. The role starts ASAP and requires 40 hours per week, 8‑hour shifts. Job Details Travel Physical Therapist (PT). The assignment is 13 weeks long at a facility in Toms River, New Jersey. Required Qualifications Valid Physical Therapy license in state compliance Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC) Preferred Qualifications Doctorate degree in physical therapy Experience in physical therapy (new grads welcome) Other relevant certifications or licenses Summary The Physical Therapist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats patients with physical impairments to improve mobility, reduce pain, and enhance quality of life. In settings such as hospitals, clinics, and rehabilitation centers, therapists create personalized, evidence‑based treatment plans using exercise and manual therapy to help patients recover and become independent. Essential Work Functions Evaluate patients’ physical conditions using standardized tests, examinations and history to identify functional limitations. Develop personalized rehabilitation programs based on assessment findings and patient goals. Implement treatment plans using various techniques to improve mobility and reduce pain. Operate specialized equipment and modalities safely, ensuring proper maintenance and calibration. Assess progress, adjust plans, and document evaluations, interventions and outcomes. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists and other professionals for coordinated care. Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise, proper mechanics, injury prevention and self‑management. Maintain a safe environment following infection control and safety guidelines. Participate in quality assurance and professional development to stay current. Support discharge planning and transition of care. Perform other duties as assigned within scope. Required Essential Skills Critical thinking, service excellence and interpersonal communication. English language proficiency, reading and writing. PC skills. Physical abilities: remain stationary, move equipment (50–100 lbs), push, pull, bend. Interpersonal: work effectively with diverse personnel. Motor skills: fine manipulation and assistance with procedures. Mental: manage frequent public contact, deadlines under pressure and occasional close supervision.
