I&C Engineer

I&C Engineer – 3 month contract to hire – Houston, TX Job Description Our client is seeking an I&C Engineer to work in Houston, TX. The Control Engineer is to support the design and execution of PLC-based control systems for modular process units. This role is focused on delivering turnkey control system designs and supporting project execution from concept through detailed engineering and integration. Responsibilities Develop and maintain key I&C documents: I/O Lists, Instrument Index, Control Narratives, Wiring and interconnection schematics, PLC Programming & Automation. Program and modify Allen-Bradley / Rockwell PLC systems; maintain and troubleshoot existing automation systems. Design PLC architecture for new modular unit projects; implement control logic, sequences, and control loops. Design wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, panel layouts, junction boxes, PLC cabinets. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Controls, or related) or equivalent experience. Strong hands‑on experience with Allen-Bradley / Rockwell PLC systems and PLC programming and troubleshooting. Proven experience developing control system documentation and electrical and instrumentation design packages. Experience in industrial/process environments such as oil & gas, chemicals, power, etc. Physical Demands Employee will be required to communicate in person and through electronic means. Position may require visits to construction sites and industrial facilities and the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Work Environment Employee will work primarily in an office environment with periodic exposure to construction site conditions. Noise levels and physical conditions may vary depending on project location.
