School Nurse

This contract role is perfect for registered nurses (RN) or licensed practical/vocational nurses (LPN/LVN) passionate about pediatric care and eager to provide 1:1 assistance during transportation to and from school. The schedule offers structured hours: Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 9:00am and again from 2:30pm to 4:30pm, making this an ideal opportunity for those seeking part-time, impactful work during the school year. Compensation for this position is $50 per hour.

Key Qualifications:

• Active Massachusetts RN or LPN/LVN license required
• Previous experience working in pediatrics, schools, or with individuals who have complex medical needs
• Skilled in seizure management and emergency response protocols
• Comfortable providing care to non-verbal, wheelchair-using students
• CPR and First Aid certification up to date
• Compassionate, patient, and skilled at building rapport with children and families

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 medical care for a student during bus transportation to and from school each day
• Monitor, assess, and respond to seizures or other health concerns during transport
• Assist with mobility, transfers, and general comfort for a wheelchair-bound, non-verbal student
• Document all care provided and communicate pertinent information to school staff and families as needed
• Uphold safety standards and foster a supportive, respectful environment for the student
