Senior Field Service Technician

Role Description Field Service Technician Level 2 responsible for start‑up and commissioning of projects, preventative maintenance, and basic submersible wastewater pump (Flygt) and control panel troubleshooting at customer sites. Product‑specific training provided. Will interact with customers. Core Responsibilities Evaluate, repair, and conduct hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical testing of submersible wastewater pumps Troubleshoot electrical control panels Understand schematics and wiring diagrams Perform start‑ups and train customers on the equipment Preventative maintenance and emergency callouts Operate and maintain a service truck with crane and outriggers Operate industrial equipment in a shop environment such as forklift, overhead cranes, etc. Use various company‑provided hand and power tools Accurate record keeping in Xylem’s work order management system Create and maintain a safe and organized working environment and culture within the organization and following protocols at customer locations Take care of company property Demonstrates high‑impact culture through innovation, accountability and empowerment Must be able to function in a team environment Work independently Qualifications HS diploma or equivalent 2 to 5 years of technical/mechanical work experience Experience with water/wastewater systems is a plus Able to pass background check & pre‑employment drug screen Skill Requirements Electrically and mechanically inclined Demonstrates critical thinking and troubleshooting ability Comprehend technical information and communicate it clearly Experience with Microsoft Office and smart devices Leadership Skills Proactively seeks feedback from peers, team members, and manager Applies new knowledge and tech to improve outcomes within team Identifies and mitigates risks Breaks down problems effectively and leverages root‑cause analysis Prioritizes team’s and organization’s needs over self Owns execution Delegates effectively to empower teams to grow Considers Xylem‑wide implications of decisions Performs strongly under pressure or in face of challenges Focuses on long‑term goals despite setbacks or failures Has an effective personal operating model Leads change with optimism Salary and Benefits Estimated salary range starts at $33 hourly. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors such as skills, experience and work location.
