This role offers a combination of clinical hours and occasional weekend call, starting as soon as privileges are granted, with ongoing assignments through next spring.

  • Shift: 7:00am 5:00pm (Clinical hours + call)
  • Hours/week: 40 (plus call)
  • Employment Type: Contract / Locum
  • License/Certs: Current WA or IMLC license, DEA, BC in neurosurgery/critical care preferred
  • Experience: 3+ years in neurosurgery or critical care settings preferred

Pay & Benefits:

  • Hourly Rate: $1.00/hour
  • Weekly pay with direct deposit

What You'll Do:

  • Provide inpatient neurosurgical coverage, including rounding and assessments
  • Respond to occasional weekend call, including pre-op and post-op patient management
  • Collaborate with neurosurgeons, ICU staff, and multidisciplinary teams for patient care
  • Manage neurosurgical procedures such as wound checks, staple/suture removal, drain management, VP shunt monitoring
  • Assist with triage and escalation of urgent cases
  • Document patient care accurately using electronic medical records (EMR)
  • Support patient recovery and coordinate discharge planning

What You Need:

  • Active Washington State or IMLC license and DEA registration (must be active at start)
  • BC in neurosurgery, critical care, or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum 3+ years of relevant inpatient experience in neurosurgery or critical care
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a high-acuity environment
