Cost Accountant

About the Role Our client is looking for an analytical and precise Cost Accountant to join their manufacturing finance team in East London . This role is integral to understanding and managing the costs associated with production, supporting efficiency improvements and profitability. You will analyze manufacturing processes, variances, and inventory valuation to provide critical insights to operational and financial management. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain cost accounting systems and standards. Analyze manufacturing costs, including direct materials, direct labor, and overhead. Perform variance analysis and investigate discrepancies between standard and actual costs. Assist in inventory valuation and cycle counting processes. Prepare cost reports and provide recommendations for cost reduction initiatives. Support the budgeting and forecasting process for manufacturing operations. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; professional qualification (e.g., CIMA) is preferred. 2-4 years of experience in cost accounting , preferably within a manufacturing environment. Solid understanding of cost accounting principles and methodologies. Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel. Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret financial data effectively.
