Job TitleReceives patient into the treatment area and performs patient data collection and documents appropriately in the EMRMonitors and documents the status of vascular accesses using proper cannulation techniques in accordance with hospital vascular access procedureDocuments patient observations and seeks guidance when abnormalities are noted in patient’s parametersMonitors and documents in EMR: patients vital signs, fluid therapy administration, and any other appropriate treatments performedObserve hospital policy and procedures for infection control and safetyObtain blood samples per policy and procedure and appropriately send them to the laboratorySets up and monitors dialysis machines and reverse osmosis water system for correct functioning, responds to visual and audible alarms, and makes appropriate adjustments before, during, and after the dialysis treatmentPerform safety checks as directed by the registered nurse prior to, during, and following treatmentsReviews dialysis prescription and notes the physical and mental condition of the patient through observation and interview.
