Engineering Department ManagerSteel Fabrication Company in search of an experienced Engineering(Civil/Structural) Department Manager to join the team.Duties:Supervise eight to nine person Engineering department which is responsible for producing structural steel, miscellaneous metals and rebar fabrication shop drawings. Currently using SDS2, RebarCAD and AutoCAD Software.Monitoring all jobs and workflow through the department to meet customer's needs. Work with subcontracted detailers to handle overflow work.Communicate with customers and production department.Review and interpret contract drawings and specifications as well as shop drawings. Report directly to Vice President.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Expertise in reading contract drawings and specifications. Specifically Structural, Architectural, Mechanical and Civil Drawings and Specifications.Proficiency in SDS2 or Tekla, Autocad and Bluebeam software is preferred. Managerial experience in steel fabrication is a plus.Minimum two-year degree in drafting technology. B.S. in civil or mechanical engineering preferred.Detail oriented, accurate, and thorough.Compensation:Competitive pay and benefits.
