Material Handler - Second Shift

U.S. Lumber, an SBP company is currently hiring for 2nd Shift Material handler (12pm - 8:30pm) to join our VALUES based organization. This position will be based out of our Claysburg, PA facility.

• Starting Hourly Pay = $18/hour
• Shift hours: 12pm - 8:30pm, Mon -Friday.
• Weekly pay.

• Prior forklift experience is a requirement!

In this role you will focus on:


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Unload common carrier trucks and railroad cars and replenish product in the designated location in the warehouse.
• Pick orders using a forklift until the order is completely filled.
• Report any problems such as shortages or damaged material, etc.
• Inquire with sales team member when orders cannot be shipped as ordered and make changes as directed by sales.
• Use handheld scanner when receiving product, picking orders, loading trucks and cycle counting in accordance with Warehouse Management System (WMS) processes.
• Collaborate with Warehouse Management System (WMS) Coordinator on questions and updates.
• Band, wrap and prepare material for safe shipping.
• Arrange orders on trucks according to safe weight distribution practices.
• Follow safety procedures and policies when performing warehouse duties.

Performance of Miscellaneous Functions

• Fill orders for incoming customers.
• Perform routine maintenance work such as cleaning warehouses/yard.
• Inspect the forklift prior to daily operation to avoid equipment problems and malfunctions in accordance with OSHA regulations.
• Cross train and back-up others in warehouse.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in a cross-functional team environment.
• Working knowledge and techniques associated with organizing and setting priorities.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma
• Must have a required 1-2 years of hands-on forklift driving experience
• Neat and clean appearance.
• Proven ability to work as a member of a team.
