SENIOR MANAGEMENT AUDITOR

Position Overview Salary: $8,265.00 - $10,785.00 per month. Location: 1416 9th Street, Sacramento, CA 95814. Telework: Hybrid; eligible employees must reside in California and report to headquarters as required. Job Summary The Employment Development Department (EDD) Audit and Evaluation Division (A&ED) seeks a Senior Management Auditor to lead an audit section, conduct independent, objective, risk‑based audits and evaluations, and supervise staff performing complex, sensitive, and confidential assignments. The role supports EDD’s compliance with laws, regulations, policies and standards. Responsibilities Manages the operation of an audit section within the A&ED. Directly supervises staff completing highly complex, sensitive and/or confidential assignments. Conducts independent, objective, risk‑based audits, evaluations, consultations, advisory services, and external audit coordination. Ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and standards. Provides leadership, strategic planning, and innovative solutions to audit and operational challenges. Minimum Requirements Senior Management Auditor classification. Working Conditions Visa sponsorship not available; applicants must be authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship by the start date. Up to 10% overnight travel may be required. Position is headquartered in downtown Sacramento; on‑site presence required as needed. Desirable Qualifications Experience and/or ability in strong project management, strategic leadership, organizational decision‑making, and conflict resolution skills. Experience and/or ability in managing multiple audits, balancing workload, and handling competing priorities. Experience and/or ability to provide innovative solutions to complex audit and/or operational challenges. Experience and/or ability to deliver strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to present information clearly and concisely in presentations, reports and emails. Experience and/or ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, peers and staff at all levels. Experience and/or ability to utilize software such as Microsoft Office applications, SharePoint, TeamMate+ and related tools.
