Description: The Registered Nurse works in a collaborative and cooperative relationship with other members of the health care team. The nurse plans and implements patient and family education. Responsible for assessing the needs and initiating appropriate interventions for patients. Employee must have on-time completion of all required education as assigned. Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or the situation. Analyzes the assessment data to determine diagnoses or issues. Identifies expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or the situation. Develops a plan that prescribes strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes. Implements the identified plan of care. Employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment. Systematically enhances the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice. Attains knowledge and competency that reflects current nursing practice. Evaluates one's own nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards and guidelines. Interacts with and contributes to the professional development of peers and colleagues. Collaborates with patients, families, and others in the conduct of nursing practice. Integrates ethical provisions in all areas of practice. Integrates research findings into practice. Provides leadership in the professional practice setting and the profession.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Demonstrates sound judgment, patience, and maintains a professional demeanor at all times. Ability to work in a busy and stressful environment. Creativity, problem analysis, and decision making are essential. Ability to work varied shifts. Exercises tact, discretion, sensitivity, and maintains confidentiality. Self-directed with the ability to complete assignments accurately and thoroughly with minimal oversight. Strong emotional intelligence, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements: Support the lifting, pushing, and pulling of up to 50 pounds. Involves extended hours requiring sitting, walking, or standing for eight or more hours daily. The role may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts. On-call work may be required to respond promptly to organizational and patient needs. Proficient in effective communication, both in person and through various technologies. Ability to handle challenging situations and work effectively with frustrated patients or families. Capable of performing repetitive tasks as needed to fulfill job responsibilities. Exposures: Job tasks may involve exposure to bloodborne pathogens. Potentially exposed to radiation in settings where medical imaging procedures are performed. Handling various chemicals and medications used in healthcare settings. May involve contact with infectious diseases. Emotionally challenging situations may arise, such as dealing with distressed patients or difficult family interactions.
