Temporary Entry Communications Technician - Enterprise Technology - (UTEMPS)

Provide semi-skilled and installer helper level installation of Telecommunications cabling for the University of Texas at Austin.

Responsibilities:

• Install Telecom cabling in new and existing structures in enclosed and cramped spaces or at heights. Operate mechanical and electrical equipment used in the installation of cabling in close proximity to high voltage and high pressure steam pipes.
• Complete Reports of time, materials, and other necessary items required for the assigned tasks. Set up and dismantle equipment. Operate a UT vehicle.

Required Qualifications:

• High School graduate or GED. Work constructively as a team member. Exercise good safety habits. Experience installing inside plant communications cabling and wireless access points. Experience in commercial construction work. Regular and punctual attendance.

Hourly Rate: $20.00

Working Conditions:

• Attire: Jeans.
• Jeans, work shirt, polo or button up with long pants (no shorts), closed-toe shoes or work boots, steel-toe preferred.

Work Shift:

• Hours per week - 40
• The work hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
