Sr. Staff Engineer, R&D/Medication Delivery

Senior Staff R&D Engineer role within BD's Medication Delivery Solutions team, focused on developing innovative medical devices for parenteral and enteral medication preparation and delivery. The position requires extensive technical expertise, cross-functional leadership, and specialized knowledge of elastomeric materials and injection systems.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical and project leadership for complex medication delivery device development and lifecycle management
- Lead characterization, testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of parenteral and enteral delivery systems
- Coordinate activities across R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, and external partners from concept to commercialization
- Develop and execute advanced engineering solutions using experimental, computational, and analytical methods
- Mentor and guide engineering team members on technical matters and build organizational capability
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline; advanced degree preferred
- 12+ years progressive experience in medical device R&D or related field
- Deep expertise in elastomeric materials, component design, and manufacturing processes
- Demonstrated leadership coordinating cross-functional product development initiatives
- Advanced proficiency with design control, DOE, statistical analysis, and risk-based approaches
- Strong technical communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
