Our substitutes play an essential role in maintaining consistent student learning when regular teachers are unavailable. Minimum Qualifications To be eligible to substitute teach in Tyrrell County Schools, applicants must meet one of the following: Option 1: Current Teaching License (any state) Hold a valid teaching license Complete the online application in our Applicant Tracking System Upload the following to your application: A copy of your current teaching license Signed background check authorization form Option 2: No Current Teaching License Must be at least two years beyond high school graduation Must hold a high school diploma or equivalent Complete the online application Upload the following to your application: Signed background check authorization form Application Process Complete the online application via our Applicant Tracking System: Include three professional references Upload all required documentation under “Additional Documents” Next Steps Once all application steps and eligibility requirements have been completed, candidates will be submitted to the Tyrrell County Board of Education for approval.
