Senior Electronics Design Engineer

Silvus Technologies is a Los Angeles-based company dedicated to keeping our heroes connected through advanced mobile ad‑hoc network radios. We serve defense, law‑enforcement, sports and industrial customers worldwide. Position Senior Electronics Design Engineer – Full Time, located in West Los Angeles, CA. Hybrid schedule: at least three days onsite per week (Mon, Wed, Thu). Reports to the Engineering Manager, Product Design. Responsibilities Component selection, schematic capture, and PCB design of electrical systems based on an FPGA SoC with associated memory devices, transceivers, communication peripherals, and power management circuitry. Design high‑fidelity mixed‑signal audio circuitry with excellent noise immunity. Follow good design practices to achieve successful mixed‑signal PCB design. Define PCB stack‑up, materials, and design rules to meet performance requirements and manufacturing feasibility. Perform hardware bring‑up, test, and root‑cause analysis on the bench using common lab equipment. Collaborate with PCB designers, software, FPGA, and RF teams for system‑level implementation. Ensure designs do not produce EMI and are well isolated in high‑EMI environments. Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor. Required Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or closely related field. Six years of experience in mixed‑signal circuit design involving audio and SoCs. Demonstrated experience with complex mixed‑signal PCB design and HDI routing. Experience with audio codecs and audio power amplifiers. Experience implementing digital communication peripherals at a hardware level (USB 3.0, 10GbE, RS232). Strong familiarity with test equipment such as DMM, bench‑top supply, oscilloscope, logic analyzer, and spectrum analyzer. Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field. Proven experience with Xilinx FPGAs, SoCs, and the Vivado IDE. Experience with video codecs. Experience with Altium Designer. Knowledge of compliance standards such as FCC, CE Mark, and MIL‑STD‑461. Experience with MATLAB, Python, and/or C. Ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment. Problem‑solving, data analysis, deductive reasoning, and critical‑thinking skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Working Conditions & Physical Requirements Lift up to 20 lbs. of equipment. Occasional exposure to heat, cold, and allergens during testing or demonstrations. Walking or moving in laboratories. Compensation Pay range: $120,000 – $180,000 USD (California). Salary will vary based on experience and qualifications.
