We look forward to meeting you.The RoleX11 Linesmen are responsible for critical ship and module alignments/measurements using a variety of 3-dimensional and standard optical tooling. These alignments/measurements are used to undock and dock ships, develop cut lines, align and install ships components and pair major modules. The job requires the mechanic to determine the proper tooling for the job, conduct surveys to establish the locations of the measurement outlined in technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models, all while working safely with a high degree of accuracy. The Linesmen routinely interface with Engineering, other Trades and Ship Management. The successful candidate is preferred to have proven math skills, computer skills, and good communication/interpersonal skills. Applicant will need to become proficient in the use of optical equipment such as optical levels, electronic theodolites and total stations while establishing ships reference lines and planes, measuring in-process hull circularities, measuring and recording critical ship's dimensions and supporting production by providing profiles and locations of major components.Must HaveCandidates must have 3 or more years of experience as a Survey Technician, Metrology Technician, PLS certification or equivalent survey field experience. Must be able to work at extreme heights or small confined spaces. Must be able to kneel, squat, crawl, bend, stoop, and climb. Must be able to lift 40 lbs and must take and pass a respirator fit test. Must be able to work all assigned shift.
