Legal Counsel – Commercial Contracts & Legal Operations BetMGM invites a seasoned attorney to provide strategic and proactive legal counsel on commercial agreements and licensing matters. Location Position may be based in Jersey City, New Jersey, or remote. No additional relocation or visa sponsorship available. Responsibilities Review, draft and negotiate commercial contracts including payment processing, vendor agreements, MSAs, SOWs, licensing, partnership, sponsorship and promotion agreements. Develop key clauses and bespoke agreements for unique business transactions. Leverage AI–enabled tools to support timely, data‑informed legal guidance. Lead negotiations with partners, suppliers and affiliates across business functions. Manage multiple assignments concurrently, prioritizing and triaging work to meet deadlines. Maintain an organized executed contract repository using the company’s contract management system. Assess risks, make sound business and legal judgments, and negotiate deals in a fast‑paced environment. Proactively identify and advise on legal issues in emerging commercial relationships. Collaborate with business partners on contractual matters related to product, technology, sports betting, marketing, finance and human resources. Assist in continuous improvement of commercial legal processes and policy development. Coordinate cross‑functional legal input with other attorneys in the legal department. Perform additional duties assigned by Associate General Counsel. Qualifications Juris Doctor degree required. Minimum of three years as a licensed attorney with progressive responsibility in contract review and negotiation. Experience in a top‑tier law firm and/or equivalent in‑house experience preferred. In‑house legal department and/or regulated industry background, especially in technology services, SaaS, and gaming or betting environments, is preferred. Gaming license registration as required by applicable jurisdictions. Substantive knowledge of contract drafting, negotiation, and legal research. Basic proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Outlook. Experience with a contract management tool preferred. Salary, Benefits & Incentives Annual salary range: $135,000 to $170,000, depending on geography, skills, education and experience. Eligible for performance‑based bonus plan.
