Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field\n- 5-7+ years of commercial credit underwriting experience within a commercial bank\n- Experience underwriting Commercial & Industrial (C&I) middle-market clients\n- Experience supporting business banking relationships exceeding $20M in revenue\n- Strong financial statement analysis and cash flow modeling experience\n- Experience with borrowing base lending analysis\n- Experience with covenant monitoring, testing, and compliance management\n- Experience preparing and owning complex credit memos and approval packages\n- Strong risk assessment and credit decision-making abilities\n- Experience synthesizing financial and business information into credit reports\n- Current hands-on underwriting experience (not portfolio management or lending-focused)\n- Strong communication skills with experience presenting to credit officers and leadership

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Commercial Underwriter for a top banking client. This senior-level professional will support Commercial & Industrial (C&I) middle-market clients by analyzing complex credit relationships, assessing risk, and preparing comprehensive credit recommendations. The ideal candidate will have a strong commercial banking background with expertise in financial statement analysis, borrowing base lending, covenant testing, and credit memo preparation. This individual will work closely with Relationship Managers and Credit Officers to support new business opportunities and portfolio management while serving as a trusted credit partner for complex commercial lending transactions. Credit expertise, risk management capabilities, and a desire to build a long-term career in underwriting are critical for success in this role.\n\nDay to Day: \n- Analyze financial statements, tax returns, and borrower cash flows\n- Spread financials and input data into underwriting/credit platforms\n- Complete risk grading calculations and ongoing credit monitoring\n- Perform borrowing base analysis to determine eligible collateral and lending capacity\n- Manage covenant testing and monitor borrower compliance\n- Prepare credit memos, approval packages, and periodic portfolio reviews\n- Underwrite Commercial & Industrial (C&I) and business banking relationships\n- Partner with Relationship Managers and Credit Officers on credit decisions\n- Participate in client calls and provide portfolio updates\n- Assess risk and recommend loan structures for complex transactions\n- Monitor existing credits and provide ongoing risk analysis\n- Support underwriting workflow and pipeline management
