PH Part Time-Registered Nurse 2

Location Dawson County Health Department, 54 Hwy, 53 East, Dawsonville, GA, 30534 Position Part time Registered Nurse 2 Work Hours Within the Health Department operating hours: Monday, Wednesday & Thursday 8-5, Tuesdays 8-7 & Fridays 8-12 (mostly) Responsibilities Under general supervision, provides professional nursing care in accordance with nurse protocols, policies and procedures. Focuses on the prevention of illness, injury or disability, the promotion of health and the maintenance of the health of populations. Cares for populations with special needs during disasters/emergencies and biological and chemical protocols. Additional Duties Knows vaccine schedules for children and adults Gives correct vaccines to children and adults Gives vaccines needed for school attendance along with correct certifications Conducts audits for school and daycares Conducts scoliosis screenings for schools Conducts hearing, vision and dental screenings needed for school attendance Cross‑trains to TB, Child Health, Family Planning and IDC clinics Other duties as assigned Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university Current Georgia license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse CPR certification OR Associate's degree/diploma in Nursing from an accredited college, one year of PHN experience, completion of a PHN course within one year of hire, current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license, CPR certification Preferred Qualifications Superior interpersonal skills Ability to work efficiently under established clinic protocols Excellent written and oral communication skills Ability to communicate effectively with corporate clients Self‑directed Ability to complete tasks without detailed supervision Excellent computer skills Experience vaccinating all age groups Ability to read, write and speak Spanish Equal Opportunity Employer We are an Equal Opportunity Employer. #J-18808-Ljbffr Georgia Department of Public Health (GA)
