Phlebotomist 40-hr Day- 9:30am-6pm

Under supervision of Site Manager, this role involves drawing pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients via venipuncture and finger sticks, performing waived testing of blood and urine specimens, and handling other routine testing and clerical responsibilities in preparation for laboratory processing. Responsibilities Monitor patient flow. Perform venipuncture and finger stick phlebotomy; spin blood and prepare specimens in a timely manner for courier pickup/laboratory testing. Perform dipstick urinalysis; collect urine and throat culture specimens and prepare for submission to the Laboratory. Perform urine pregnancy tests and stool hematests. Perform testing (e.g., electrocardiograms, spirometry testing, Holter monitor testing, vision and hearing testing). Perform housekeeping, handle hazardous waste, and keep the laboratory area fully stocked. Document and process encounter forms, lab requisitions, and all necessary paperwork for third‑party billing. Label tubes and samples, process and prepare labs and routine tests for pickup and delivery to Central Lab Provider. Maintain log sheets for documentation of incoming and outgoing specimens. Verbally report lab results to providers, and deliver appropriate lab results reports when received from the central laboratory. Perform other related duties including data entry into laboratory computer and special projects as assigned. Qualifications Education: High‑school graduate or equivalent. Experience: Six months phlebotomy experience. Licensure/Certification: BLS certification through the American Heart Association (or agreement to obtain within one year). Compensation Pay Range: $21.00 – $28.26 per hour. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices. Additional Requirements All staff must be vaccinated against influenza (flu) as a condition of employment.
