Pay:

• Friday: $16.50/hour
• Saturday & Sunday: $19.50/hour
  Drug Screen: 10-panel drug screening required

Job Summary

We are seeking dependable and hardworking Distribution Associates to support warehouse and distribution operations in Covington, GA.

IMPORTANT: This is primarily a MANUAL LABOR position with some forklift responsibilities.

Associates will primarily be responsible for manually unloading 18-wheeler trucks, moving and stacking boxes, building pallets, and handling warehouse materials. Candidates must have previous forklift experience, but this is NOT a full-time forklift operator position.

The ideal candidate has a combination of forklift and hands-on warehouse/manual labor experience and is comfortable performing physically demanding work throughout the shift.

This facility is NOT climate controlled. Associates will work in hot or cold temperatures depending on the season and may be required to stack pallets outside and inside trailers.

Key Responsibilities

• Manually unload products and materials from 18-wheeler trucks.
• Lift, move, organize, and stack boxes onto designated pallet patterns.
• Build and organize palletized loads.
• Safely operate forklifts and other Material Handling Equipment (MHE) when required.
• Locate pallets and materials within racks, pallet locations, and BIN locations.
• Verify product numbers, lot numbers, quantities, and expiration dates when applicable.
• Use RF scanners and inventory-control systems to receive and track materials.
• Complete required warehouse and inventory transactions.
• Follow established procedures for receiving and handling products.
• Maintain accurate documentation associated with incoming materials and sterilization loads.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Follow all safety, quality, and warehouse procedures.
• Use proper lifting techniques when bending, lifting, turning, pushing, and pulling.
• Perform additional warehouse and distribution duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous forklift experience required/preferred by hiring management.
• At least 1 year of warehouse, distribution, material handling, or related experience preferred.
• Previous manual labor experience strongly preferred.
• Must be willing to perform both manual warehouse labor and forklift duties.
• Ability to obtain forklift certification.
• Experience operating Material Handling Equipment (MHE) preferred.
• Ability to use an RF scanner.
• Ability to read and understand warehouse/manufacturing documentation.
• Basic organizational, analytical, and prioritization skills.
• Dependable attendance and ability to work the full Friday–Sunday schedule.

Physical Requirements

This is a physically demanding warehouse position. Associates must be comfortable with:

• Standing and walking for extended periods.
• Frequent bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, twisting, pushing, and pulling.
• Repetitive lifting and material handling.
• Manually unloading trailers.
• Lifting 50+ pounds in certain areas.
• Working around forklifts and other moving warehouse equipment.
• Working in hot or cold temperatures depending on the season.

Work Environment

The warehouse is not climate controlled and temperatures may become very hot or cold depending on weather conditions. Work may take place inside the warehouse, inside trailers, and in outdoor loading areas.

The environment may include moderate-to-loud noise, moving mechanical equipment, airborne particles, and changing temperatures.

Temp-to-Hire Opportunity

Although the initial assignment is structured as a contract position, the department has indicated that there is potential for strong-performing associates to convert to full-time BD employees.

Candidates should view this as an opportunity to demonstrate strong attendance, reliability, productivity, safety awareness, and teamwork while gaining experience within BD.

Important Candidate Notice

This is NOT a straight forklift position.

Forklift experience is desired, but most of the work involves manual labor, including manually unloading 18-wheelers and stacking materials. Forklift usage will be limited compared with the manual labor responsibilities.

Candidates who are only interested in operating a forklift and do not want to perform physical/manual warehouse work should not apply.

We are specifically seeking candidates whose backgrounds demonstrate both forklift experience and hands-on warehouse/manual labor experience.
