Because we win together.As a member of the Automation team, the Automation Project Manager will be responsible for leading, supporting, implementing, and managing automation projections while driving innovation in advancements. The candidate will use their vast knowledge, experience, and resourcefulness to lead and implement automation cells and drive standards across North America. As a Project Manager in Automation, you will have project ownership from quote hand off to project close, providing customer support & communication, and ultimately responsible for the related activities performed by multi-disciplined cross functional teams. We take a disciplined approach to project management, clearly defining objectives, timing, and critical elements to ensure success.Advantages of working at Lear in the Automation group:Drive innovation with new advancements in the industryOpportunities for future training to broaden skillsBe part of a team of experts to drive solutions that improve efficiencies, safety, and qualityWork with various assembly plants and integratorsResponsibilities:Provide leadership for projects including scope, risk, timing, cost, and qualityAct as the customer main point of contact, communicating and facilitating the design and build process and ensuring customer satisfactionWeekly updates and direct communication with the customer to resolve open issuesReport status updates to both the customer and in-house teamsAfter project completion, share best practices and lessons learned in monthly BP reviewAct as the driving force for the team, promoting cooperation, conflict resolution & negotiationUnderstand the financial details and budget of each assigned projectEnsure that the projects stay within budget and alert management when the job approaches 80% of budgetCreate RFQ's and track purchased with all ASI departmentsDevelop quote and submit quote to LearReiterate scope in the quote to match SOW or line up from team requesting the quoteDevelop Milestone Timeline and kickoff the job with a meeting with all leaders @ ASI and Automation Team that will impact the jobDevelop & manage issues listsCommunicate the issues list weekly and strive daily to close open issuesCommunicate to the customer timing for FAT and any shipping arrangements that need to be madeEducation Requirements: Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent combination of experience and education.Experience Requirements: Good communicator, organized & self-motivated. 5+ years of experience in industrial automation or engineering services industry. 5+ years of experience in Project Management.
