Job Title: Industrial Maintenance Technician

Job Description

This role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving plant production and facility equipment in a high-volume manufacturing environment. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose and repair complex electrical and mechanical issues, support production start-up activities, and collaborate with both internal teams and external contractors to keep operations running safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance on all plant equipment to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues on production and facility equipment, identifying root causes and implementing effective countermeasures.
• Dismantle machines or equipment using hand tools and power tools to inspect parts for defects and repair or replace components as needed.
• Complete accurate daily maintenance status reports to document work performed, issues identified, and corrective actions taken.
• Coordinate and work with contractors performing on-site activities to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant completion of work.
• Conduct daily machine start-up and warm-up procedures to ensure equipment is ready for production and operating within specifications.
• Perform production start-up quality audits to verify that equipment, processes, and outputs meet required quality standards.
• Provide training, guidance, and support to team members on machine operations, safe work practices, and basic troubleshooting.
• Apply Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques to support Total Quality Control (TQC) operating philosophy, including charting, monitoring process variation, and contributing to problem-solving activities.
• Use strong electrical troubleshooting skills to diagnose and repair issues involving PLCs, electro-pneumatics, electro-hydraulics, servo drives, and three-phase motors.
• Read and interpret electrical prints and schematics to support effective troubleshooting and maintenance activities.
• Troubleshoot and support Allen-Bradley PLCs, including RS500 and RS5000 platforms, to maintain reliable automated operations.
• Home and support six-axis robots as part of production equipment set-up and recovery.
• Perform welding tasks when needed to support equipment repair and modification, as skills and safety requirements allow.

Essential Skills

• Industrial maintenance experience involving direct, daily work with PLCs, electro-pneumatics, and electro-hydraulics.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting for automated production and facility equipment.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting and supporting Allen-Bradley PLCs, including RS500 and RS5000 software platforms.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical prints and schematics accurately.
• Experience working with and troubleshooting six-axis robots, including homing and recovery procedures.
• Knowledge of servo drives and servo motors and their role in automated equipment.
• Experience working with three-phase motors in an industrial setting.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic systems used in production equipment.
• Ability to apply SPC (Statistical Process Control) techniques to support Total Quality Control (TQC) practices, including charting and problem-solving.
• Competence in using hand tools and power tools safely to dismantle, repair, and reassemble machinery.
• Ability to complete detailed maintenance reports and documentation clearly and accurately.
• Capability to perform equipment start-up, warm-up, and quality audit activities in a production environment.

This is a Contract position based out of Charlotte, MI.

The pay range for this position is $29.89 - $36.99/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Charlotte,MI.
