Failure to meet this requirement may result in separation from employment. Preferred Education Bachelor’s Degree Experience 2 years experience in ultrasound Shift : Mon‑Fri, 4 PM‑12:30 AM, w/call JOB DUTIES Maintains work area in a clean and orderly condition, ensures proper supplies, demonstrates stewardship of resources, checks equipment and accessories for proper operation, reports repairs, responds to inquiries timely, communicates problems with equipment or pending exams, engages in equitable distribution of departmental workloads, participates in learning new employees and students, performs quality control on equipment and reports issues, attends departmental and facility meetings/classes, completes required courses/modules on time, adheres to time, attendance, and tardiness guidelines, wears employee ID, follows dress code, may assume supervisory responsibilities in absence of supervisor, participates in regulatory compliance activities. Patient Interaction: Verifies patient identification using two identifiers, communicates clearly and professionally, ensures proper patient preparation, verifies screening protocols, answers questions, evaluates history and symptoms for clinical criteria, instructs patients and/or families regarding tests, assesses patient ability to tolerate exam, maintains current knowledge for newborn, pediatric, young adult, adult, and geriatric age groups. Exam Performance: Performs grayscale, color, and duplex imaging exams (carotid, extremity venous and arterial studies, abdominal Doppler, small parts, OB/GYN, general abdominal/body, or other assigned exams), performs non‑invasive imaging evaluation of arteries and veins by Doppler and plethysmographic techniques, verifies requisition/chart for valid order and notes, performs high‑quality exams per protocol promptly, assists physicians in additional imaging or biopsy procedures, ensures proper image labeling and documentation, stores images in PACS, communicates with radiologist or advanced practice sonographer promptly, administers contrast material as appropriate and observes patients for reactions. Job Performance May Include: Monitors and trains students and residents, assists in orientation and training of new staff, participates in modality‑specific QA/QC program and ensures regulatory compliance, participates in accreditation processes. Organizes and participates in conferences, seminars, and technical meetings. Arranges for maintenance and repair of equipment to reduce downtime. Performs other duties as assigned.
