Associate Attorney

We are a well-established, "AV" rated litigation firm founded in 1970. We are seeking a Civil Litigation Attorney to join its thriving defense practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to take ownership of cases, gain significant courtroom experience, and work alongside a team of accomplished litigators handling complex and high-exposure matters. The ideal candidate will have experience in civil litigation defense and be comfortable managing cases through all phases of litigation. Responsibilities

• Independently manage a caseload from inception through resolution
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal memoranda
• Conduct and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts
• Attend hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and court appearances
• Develop litigation strategy and evaluate case exposure
• Communicate directly with insurance carriers, clients, and opposing counsel
• Prepare cases for trial and assist with trial proceedings
• Negotiate settlements and participate in alternative dispute resolution
• Maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and reporting

Qualifications

-J.D.

• Active membership in the Florida or South Carolina Bar
• 3+ years of civil litigation experience preferred
• Strong deposition, motion practice, and case management skills
• Excellent legal research, writing, and advocacy abilities
• Ability to manage deadlines and multiple cases simultaneously
• Trial experience is a plus but not required
