Certified Nurse Midwife

Job Overview Sun River Health is seeking a full-time Certified Midwife to provide comprehensive maternal and newborn care at our Monticello site. The role involves delivering high-quality, preventive care and collaborating with physicians for high‑risk patients. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Takes histories, performs physical examinations, prescribes treatment and medication for conditions that fall within the scope of the midwifery specialty. Provides on‑call and hospital coverage for Health Center patients as contractually obligated. Performs deliveries as outlined in midwifery protocols and practice privileges. Designs and participates in quality‑assurance activities, including medical record peer review, performance and procedure audits, outcome audits and focused reviews. Provides supervision for clinical activities of nursing personnel in the department, including review of protocols, telephone triage and follow‑up procedures. Coordinates tests, referrals and care of patients outside the Health Center. Sets standards for preventive care and diagnostic screening within the specialty and participates in the development of programs to carry out these standards. Follows OSHA standards of infection control under CDC guidelines endorsed by the organization and overseen by the Infection Control Officer. Provides accurate and legible documentation of care. Meets annual CME requirements. Follows established protocols with a willingness to follow evidence‑based research. Provides safe and successful performance, including meeting productivity, quality and patient satisfaction standards. Minimum Education and Experience Master’s degree with Certification by the American College of Nurse Midwifery to practice in New York State. Minimum 1 year of related work experience. Compensation $141,650.60 – $150,277.40 annually. Sign‑on bonus: $3,500 for eligible external applicants (terms and conditions apply).
