Job Summary:
The ICU (Intensive Care Unit) nursing position is located in a 25-bed ICU unit within a hospital in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The role involves providing specialized critical care to a diverse patient population, utilizing advanced equipment and technology, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. This assignment offers an opportunity to work in a level 2 trauma center with a comprehensive stroke center designation.

Job Details:

• Location: Portsmouth, New Hampshire
• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Start Date: 07/20/2026
• Required Qualifications: Valid ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications; three years of ICU experience; strong telemetry skills; experience titrating vasoactive and inotropic medications; chest tube experience; past ICU experience
• Preferred Qualifications: Open heart experience, temporary pacing, Swan-Ganz catheter experience, procedures such as intubation, central line, and arterial line placement
• Additional Information: The unit is equipped with GE monitors, Hamilton bipaps and hi-flows, Puritan ventilators, and Hemospheres. Documentation is maintained in Meditech Expanse. The staff includes around-the-clock mid-levels, trauma surgeons, and respiratory therapists. The schedule includes rotating floating, with the first floating rotation assigned to travelers. No unit secretaries or PCTs; bedside shift reports are conducted at each shift change with updated MyCare boards. The position involves potential float rotation on a rotation basis.
