We are seeking a driven and service-oriented Assistant General Manager / Front Office Manager to join the leadership team at the Residence Inn by Marriott Traverse City . This hands-on, working manager position plays a vital role in shaping the guest experience—especially during evening hours—by leading front desk operations and creating a welcoming, guest-first atmosphere.

The ideal candidate will take full ownership of the guest journey, from arrival to departure, with a strong focus on Marriott Bonvoy enrollment performance and loyalty tracking . Success in this role will come from a passion for hospitality, strong leadership, and the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing team.

Responsibilities

• Lead the front desk team in delivering exceptional service and maintaining a warm, professional environment.
• Oversee daily front office functions, including check-ins, check-outs, payment processing, and room assignments.
• Take real-time ownership of guest concerns and ensure swift, effective resolution.
• Drive Bonvoy enrollments and ensure loyalty tracking metrics are consistently met.
• Act as the property’s primary leader during evening shifts, ensuring operational consistency.
• Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and scheduling of front desk associates.
• Ensure completion of Marriott-required and property-level training programs.
• Collaborate with housekeeping and maintenance to address guest needs in a timely manner.
• Review and validate daily reports for revenue accuracy, room status, and transactions.
• Maintain an organized and brand-compliant front desk area.
• Provide support to other departments as needed to ensure smooth operations.
• Assist the General Manager with day-to-day operational tasks and leadership duties.

Skills & Qualifications

• MUST have at least one year of hotel leadership experience
• Proven experience in front desk operations or hospitality management.
• Strong understanding of hotel operations, guest service, and leadership best practices.
• Familiarity with night audit procedures is a plus.
• Candidates with Marriott Select Brands experience is highly preferred
• Experience with FOSSE is highly preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a guest-first mindset.
• Comfortable using phone systems and handling guest inquiries efficiently.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
• Positive, approachable demeanor and strong problem-solving skills.
