Juvenile Care WorkerThe Ted Lechner Youth Services Center provides pre-trial detention for youth who have been incarcerated in a restrictive housing environment, separated by temporary housing for youth in a non-restrictive shelter care environment. Performs routine supervisory work in the safekeeping of youth who have been placed in a secure detention and shelter care by enforcing rules, maintaining order, and monitoring activities.Examples of DutiesSupervision of youth in a restrictive detention environment and shelter care facility;Conduct intake interviews of youth and document youth behaviors and emotional status;Provides basic care and supervision to youth;Monitors and assesses the behavioral and emotional characteristics of referred youth and provides additional supervision to prevent self-harm as needed;Regularly communicates orally, and in writing, any changes to youth, to all members of the youth care facility.Minimum QualificationsEducation/Experience/Training:Graduation from a college or university of recognized standing with a bachelor's degree in Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, Criminal Justice, or closely related field; orAssociate degree in Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, Criminal Justice, or closely related field; and two (2) years' experience working with youth in crisis.A combination of education, training, and experience totaling four (4) years in a closely related field will be considered.Certifications:Valid Montana driver's license;CPR certification (within 6 months);CPI certification (within 6 months).Required:Must pass driving and background check.BenefitsWe offer a complete benefits package to full-time employees including:Employer paid health insurance, which includes dental and pharmacy benefitsEmployer paid life insurance, short-term disability and long-term disabilityState of Montana PERS retirementVision plan coverage457 deferred compensation plans and ROTH plansFlexible spending accounts, dependent care accounts, limited purpose accounts and health savings accounts (HSA)Education assistance programEAP - Employee Assistance ProgramWeight Management programAnnual wellness screeningsPaid holidays12-days sick leave per year3-weeks' vacation your first year!Part-time employees who work a minimum of 20 hours per week, receive benefits on a pro-rated basis.
