GPI is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer to lead and grow our traffic engineering practice in the Delmarva region. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional who wants to win work, build a team, develop client relationships, and deliver high-quality transportation solutions for public-sector clients.

In this role, you will pursue and manage contracts, mentor staff, and provide technical leadership on traffic engineering projects throughout Maryland and Delaware. You’ll collaborate with experienced engineers and project managers while helping shape the continued growth of GPI’s regional transportation practice.

Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Lead business development, proposals, project pursuits, and client engagement.
\n
• Pursue traffic engineering contracts throughout Maryland and Delaware.
\n
• Manage traffic engineering projects, contracts, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams.
\n
• Prepare and review traffic impact studies, operational analyses, and safety evaluations.
\n
• Develop and review traffic signal, signing, and pavement marking plans.
\n
• Perform traffic capacity and operational analyses using industry-standard software.
\n
• Prepare technical reports, exhibits, and agency submissions.
\n
• Recruit, mentor, and provide technical guidance to staff.
\n
• Support construction administration and resolve field issues.

Qualifications

\n

\n
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
\n
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required; PTOE preferred.
\n
• 12+ years of traffic or transportation engineering experience.
\n
• Proven project management, business development, and client relationship experience.
\n
• Strong knowledge of traffic engineering principles, standards, and design practices.
\n
• Experience with Synchro, HCS, VISSIM, AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar software.
\n
• Maryland DOT, DelDOT, county, or municipal project experience strongly preferred.
\n
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
