Group Leader - Microbiology

Eurofins Agroscience Services North Carolina

Eurofins seeks a Group Leader in Microbiology for their Portage, MI laboratory to oversee microbial testing operations, supervise technical staff, and drive operational improvements in compliance with GMP/GLP standards. The role requires expertise in USP microbial testing methods and leadership of complex investigations and audits.

Responsibilities

Supervise laboratory staff and coordinate workflow for microbial testing operations
Conduct semiannual performance reviews, interview applicants, and maintain training records
Develop and implement operational improvements and LEAN initiatives
Independently lead complex technical investigations and manage escalated customer issues
Assess laboratory needs and justify equipment, technology, and resource requirements

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, or related field
Extensive knowledge of aseptic techniques, microbial limits testing, endotoxin, and sterility testing
Experience with at least 2 USP testing areas: <61> , <62> , <60> , <51> , <71> , or <85>
Strong understanding of USP, ICH, and Ph. Eur. regulations for microbial testing
Demonstrated experience conducting laboratory investigations and supporting audit responses
Leadership and staff supervision experience with coaching and performance management skills
