Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Holding Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 1 year minimum License: Active nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Telemetry skills - Ability to interpret dysrhythmias - Experience managing dysrhythmias Description: The role involves working on a fast-paced admission unit. This unit functions similarly to an emergency department holding unit. Registered Nurses will care for admitted patients and begin inpatient care until they can be placed in appropriate units. The unit requires handling frequent admissions and discharges. Patient-to-nurse ratios are 1:4 to 1:5. The unit includes 17 beds and utilizes additional hall beds as necessary. RNs must monitor and interpret telemetry. The position requires managing various medical equipment effectively. Time management skills are essential for success in this role. The patient population is diverse, covering all specialties except ICU-level patients. Relief charge duties may be required as needed. Floating may be necessary to meet facility needs. Previous charge experience is preferred. The unit supports a variety of interdisciplinary services. Candidates should be prepared for a dynamic and demanding work environment.
