Description

American Traveler is hiring a Mother-Baby/Post Partum RN with 2 years of experience and NM or compact RN license required for a night shift assignment.

Details

• Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Post Partum unit
• Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00-7:30), with 36 or 48 hour options
• Patient ratio of 1:3-4
• Floating required to like units within scope as needed
• Weekends required
• No on-call responsibilities mentioned

Requirements

• Active RN license (NM or Compact) required, pending NM/Compact license accepted if obtained prior to start
• Current certifications: BLS and NRP
• 2 years of experience preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, administration of blood and blood products, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with postpartum care including cesarean section, vaginal delivery, multiple births, postpartum hemorrhage, and pregnancy induced hypertension
• Experience with newborn care including cord care, thermoregulation, phototherapy, and neonatal abstinence syndrome
• Experience with medication administration including antihypertensives, antiseizure medications, magnesium sulfate therapy, and pitocin

Additional Information

• Provide couplet care to mother-baby patients including antepartum, high risk antepartum, and postpartum care
• Support newborn care including car seat education, discharge teaching, and metabolic screening
• Assist with pain management including epidural management and PCA use
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius as locals are not accepted
• Previous staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply, especially those with relevant experience
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
