Operations Support Specialist 1

What You Will Do Support mission‑critical operations that enable national security and scientific breakthroughs at the Laboratory. As part of the Radiation Instrumentation & Calibration (RIC) Program, you'll coordinate essential operations including: Procurement and inventory management Logistics, shipping, and receiving Documentation and compliance Process improvement initiatives Customer service and administrative support Ideal Candidate Thrives on solving problems and coordinating diverse activities Values attention to detail and process improvement Enjoys supporting team success in a dynamic technical environment Minimum Job Requirements Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and interpersonal) Ability to manage multiple priorities and execute complex processes Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel) Understanding of business operations, quality standards, and safety protocols Collaborative mindset with customer service orientation Desired Qualifications Knowledge of Laboratory policies and procedures, including DOE orders and federal regulations Knowledge of Laboratory business and operations systems and standard software applications Familiarity with radiation detection instrumentation Familiarity with Laboratory Radiation Protection Programs Work Environment Position may require working near sources of ionizing radiation and operation of motor vehicles. Work Location The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management. Position Commitment Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory.
