Tittle : Public Health Program Director 1 Location: Nashville, TN (Hybrid) Duration : 8 Months Residency Requirement: Must be a Tennessee resident Typical working hours Monday - Friday 8AM CST to 4:30PM CST Job Overview Our Client is seeking a motivated and qualified Public Health Program Director 1 to support the Tobacco Use Prevention & Control Program. The position will work closely with program and evaluation staff to implement evidence-based tobacco prevention and control strategies, with a particular focus on youth and young adults. Key Responsibilities Plan and implement evidence-based programs/initiatives to address tobacco prevention among youth and young adults. Assist and support schools with the implementation of tobacco prevention and cessation initiatives. Work with the tobacco team to plan and implement youth engagement trainings for tobacco prevention. Participate in regular trainings, workshops, conferences, and meetings related to tobacco prevention and control and the FHW division. Develop and maintain cooperative, collaborative, working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve program goals and objectives. Updates and uses relevant knowledge to support the implementation of health education interventions and programs for the community. Identifies the educational needs of others, supports program staff in the development of educational training programs or classes, and teaches and instructs others. Assists with the design and delivery of relevant training programs for health department employees, teachers, and other professionals Prepare and distribute program materials to internal and external stakeholders that conduct tobacco prevention programs. Education and Experience 5+ years of public health or education experience. Experience working with youth, young adults, schools, or community health programs. Knowledge of tobacco prevention and cessation. Experience implementing evidence-based health programs. Experience developing or delivering health education/training programs.
